About the Role

The Head of Creative shapes EMF Media’s creative direction and oversees the delivery of high-impact assets across paid and brand channels, working closely with both internal teams and external creative partners.

This role blends creative excellence with performance acumen, ensuring every concept is not only visually compelling but also optimised for results. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers, editors, and copywriters, building a world-class creative engine that moves fast, learns faster, and delivers assets that scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Creative Vision

Define and lead the creative vision for e-commerce and DTC brands, ensuring each asset supports both brand growth and measurable performance outcomes.

  • Define and implement a global creative strategy aligned with Performance Manager and brand consistency.
  • Champion a data-driven creative culture where decisions are grounded in insights, and own the framework that enables the team to consistently turn data into actionable creative direction.
  • Build and maintain a Creative Performance Framework to track the impact of creative iterations.
  • Guide Creative Strategists, Copywriters, and Designers to elevate strategic thinking and speed of execution.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to unlock innovative ad angles, storylines, and formats.

2. Creative Execution & Performance Optimisation

Own the full creative lifecycle from briefing to post-launch analysis and iteration.

  • Oversee the briefing process, ensuring clarity, speed, and alignment with campaign goals.
  • Partner with Performance Managers to refine top-performing creatives and scale winners.
  • Develop and manage testing roadmaps across formats, messaging, and styles.
  • Guarantee that creative direction consistently supports business outcomes, particularly in growth and conversion performance.
  • Maintain high brand integrity while pushing the boundaries of what converts.

3. Team Management & Workflow Efficiency

Build and lead a high-performing creative team that delivers fast, sharp, and on-brand assets.

  • Manage and mentor Creative Strategists, Copywriters Strategists, Motion Designers, and Video Editors.
  • Streamline workflows and improve turnaround speed without compromising quality.
  • Establish review systems and feedback loops for continuous improvement.
  • Develop SOPS for creative production, testing, and reporting.
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers on time, on spec, and on brand.

4. Creative-Performance Alignment & Collaboration

Bridge the gap between art and science by aligning creativity with growth strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with Growth and Performance teams to ensure shared goals and feedback loops.
  • Optimise creative execution across paid, organic, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Align design and messaging with audience psychology, funnel stage, and targeting strategy.
  • Facilitate insight-sharing sessions across teams to drive smarter creative decisions.
  • Leverage performance data to inform ideation and refine visual direction.

5. Innovation, Trend Analysis & Benchmarking

Future-proof the creative function by constantly experimenting, iterating, and evolving.

  • Lead competitive benchmarking and industry scans to surface trends and opportunities.
  • Launch a Creative Innovation Lab to test emerging formats and storytelling techniques.
  • Integrate UGC, interactive, and AI-powered creative into the pipeline.
  • Push the team to innovate while remaining grounded in performance fundamentals.
  • Champion emotional storytelling and breakthrough visuals that differentiate brands.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years leading creative strategy and execution within high-growth digital environments, either at a performance agency or directly within DTC/e-commerce brands.
  • Strong expertise in performance marketing, with a clear understanding of what drives creative impact and conversion in the e-commerce space.
  • Proven track record managing multidisciplinary creative teams (design, video, copy, etc.) in fast-paced, high-volume settings.
  • Deep knowledge of ad formats and platform best practices across all media platforms.
  • Ability to connect creative thinking with analytical depth, translating insights into actionable creative strategies.
  • Exceptional communicator and inspiring leader, capable of both shaping vision and driving flawless execution.

Experience collaborating with external agencies and production partners is a strong plus.
